Abstract:
Using technology in the classroom is an asset to any teacher. By using it, savvy teachers are able to demonstrate new types of lessons, present new materials, illustrate how to use new programs and show new websites that help students own their own learning. Technology has definitely changed education and motivated educators can and should influence new educational tools to personalize learning and prepare students for the future. Educators and researchers share their views on why technology integration is an important strategy for 21st Century classrooms. There are so many great resources for students, parents and teachers online. In this session, I will discuss the cutting-edge views of learning technologies and how to integrate the appropriate e-tools, applications and some simple programs in the classroom for the learners to get ready for the future. Software tools offer students increased opportunities for collaboration and interactivity online, transforming aspects of student learning. So, the attendees will be introduced to some tools and applications in terms of innovating e-learning technologies. These tools, applications or programs can be examined in many different categories such as presentation, behavior management, searching, storytelling, e-books, evaluation, sharing and communication.
The teachers will be shown ways to find the right applications and tools for their needs as well. These tools have been tried by teachers who are teaching different grade levels and they have given me positive feedback. At the end of the session, attendees will have an introductory idea on how to use the right technology both in their class and for their own professional development, thus fostering the essence of integration of technology.
