Abstract:
This paper outlines using of embedded systems in collaboration with industrial machines and the participation of students in this project. This project was part of the selection procedure of best projects for the whole University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, prepared by doctoral students. It was a big challenge and the best start for their scientific careers. The outputs of this paper are also ways to improve the practical lectures for master or bachelor students.

The first step was necessary to be familiarized with documentation about the implementation of the project. Moreover, the preparation of the project and schedule for one and half year were essential conditions for success.

After the selection procedure, the project implementation started according to the project schedule. The first part deals with the basic principles of induction heating as well as the embedded system, especially the microcontrollers. The next part focuses on practical measurements and possible tasks for master or bachelor students to verify the theoretical assumptions in practice, also the using these methods in teaching. The article also evaluates the benefits of doctoral students' involvement in their own projects.
