Abstract:
According to the Law about changes in law on the system of education and about changes of other laws from 19th March 2009, the nursery school education covers supporting the development and early education of children from the beginning of the school year in the calendar year when they are three years old, till the end of the school year in the calendar year when they are six years old. In especially justified cases the nursery school headmaster may accept a child who finished 2 years and a half at his nursery school.

Children who have a statement about special education can attend nursery school when they are more than six years old, not longer though, than till the end of the school year in the calendar year when they are 8. Children whose health condition makes it impossible or difficult to attend nursery school may have compulsory, individual, one-year-long, preparatory nursery school education. Nursery school education is executed at nursery school institutions, nursery school units at primary schools and at other forms of nursery school education. They provide their pupils with care, upbringing and education in the atmosphere of acceptance and safety. They create conditions which enable children acquiring their school readiness.

They have advisory function towards parents and support the upbringing processes, namely:
• they help to recognize the particular child’s developmental possibilities to take action early enough concerning the specialist intervention,
• they systematically inform about the child’s progress,
• both with parents they agree on directions and the scope of tasks executed at nursery school institutions, nursery school units and other forms of nursery school education.

The aim of the nursery school education organized in that way is to support and orient the child’s development in accordance with his inborn potential and developmental possibilities in relation with his social, cultural and natural environment. The task which result from that fact and which are adjusted to the child’s needs and developmental possibilities are executed by the teacher within the frames of the established educational fields.
Nursery school education institutions execute the programme base of the nursery school education which is established by the appropriate minister responsible for education, on the basis of which there are created some author’s programmes.
