Abstract:
The changes of civilization and culture observed in Poland in the recent years gave the beginning of new civilizational needs. At the same time traditional culture gradually started to vanish. Therefore, it is important for the child at the time of integration with European countries to have the sense of his national integrity so that “while getting to know what is foreign he could love what’s his own”. That is why as early as at the nursery school time there should be aroused in children their national affiliation to the familiar landscape and cultural heritage of his region. It is up to teachers and parents whether the future generations will be able to include the heritage of their region to the common European historic and cultural heritage.

Regionalism is connected with the person’s active attitude regarding his surroundings and his small homeland. The matter of regional education at nursery school concerns the sphere of patriotic upbringing, taking active attitude towards the small homeland. Thanks to the regional education children learn what respect and tolerance towards dissimilarity is and cultural wealth. The education started at nursery school they will be able to end up with passion of being the community workers of regional development.

In the article there were presented the ways of how to carry out the regional education in Polish nursery schools.
