Abstract:

Managing of the research projects is not simple. Literature does not provide a precise answer to the question, what kind of management methodology should be used (adapted to their specificity) to provide more effective and efficient management.

This paper concentrates on planning of research projects. The aim of the paper is to present ways of planning research projects, analysing existing solutions and proposing improvements. To achieve this goal the literature researches and analysis of the selected case study has been carried out and a following research tools have been used: questionnaire form and in-depth interviews. The empirical research results identified problems and difficulties that emerged in the planning and implementation phase of the research projects. Analysis of real projects allowed to identify problem areas that were used to formulate recommendations useful for the research projects planning.
