Abstract:
Europe was hit by the pandemic in March 2020, which demanded a shift to online education in public education as well as in higher education from one week to the next. This was no different in the area of accountability.
At the beginning of the spring semester, the final exams were still written in person, but in the second half of the semester they were written online, from home, in accordance with the epidemiological restrictions.
In the autumn of 2021, teaching at Óbuda University in Hungary was still possible in person, but in November, teaching and examinations were now online.
In this paper, we analyse the results of the tests for this period in mechanical engineering and show that students wrote significantly better examinations in a home environment than under teacher supervision, despite the fact that the test questions were mixed and timed via Moodle.
