Abstract:
The entering students use different communication forms on the internet like social networks, chat rooms and so on. These applications are protected by password. We were interested in which systems find the freshmen students important in everyday life and what kind of password use for protecting the information. The students will handle sensitive data at work, and they share sensitive information on the community sites today. It is important to see if we need to teach how they handle the sensitive information or not. The students filled out an information security awareness questionnaire at the beginning of semester. The students had to say, which communication systems are more important, how long they have been using their passwords in the most important systems, how complicated their used password is, how often the student change these passwords. Are they using the same passwords in different systems or not?

After completing the analysis, we can see how big it is the difference in information security awareness between the freshmen students in Faculty of Computer Science and the freshmen students in Faculty of Education.
