Abstract:
Learning is a process that conducts to change, which occurs as a result of experience and increases the potential for improved performance and future learning. The change in the learner may happen at the level of knowledge, attitude or behavior. As a result of learning, learners come to see concepts, ideas and the world differently.

Those who follow specialized studies in the educational field have a strong motivation for choosing this professional direction. However, although they engage in a desired and assumed process, numerous barriers to learning arise. Barriers to learning can be emotional, motivational and related to the learning environment. The management of these barriers will influence student's educational journey by helping them to successfully complete their academic training.

This research aims to identify the learning barriers of students from Faculty of Pedagogy of Primary and Preschool Education through a qualitative research design approach. The focus group discussion was attended by ten students from each year of study from Adventus University. The barriers to learning listed were: peer pressure, fear of failure, lack of self-esteem, lack of goals, course format and poor learner experience. The analysis of the results allows to draw objective conclusions with the impact on the adaptation of students to the challenges of the university learning environment.
