Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to examine how the education using SNS(Social Network Services) can be applied to multicultural families of immigrant women and how they can change the lives of multicultural families. In Korea, multicultural education has been implemented by the government and local governments. However, it is a reality that immigrant women are not educated because of lack of time, long distance, economic reasons and immigrant women are restricted by new culture and language. In order to solve these problems, we provide multicultural families with necessary educational information such as Korean culture and law using SNS, and then analyze how they affect adaptation to life in Korea. And we also analyze what changes in solving loneliness. As a result, it was proved that multicultural family education using SNS is effective in understanding and adapting Korean society. In addition, mutual communication between family members and multicultural members has been proved to be effective in relieving loneliness. In this experiment, all immigrant women answered that the education using SNS had a positive effect on understanding life in Korea and real life, and 80% of them said it was very effective. The reason is that regardless of time and place, accessibility is easy, contents are easy to understand, useful and beneficial to the real life, and information that I did not know through education. It quickly became known to the surrounding news, and the loneliness was solved.
In order to carry out this study, the subjects of this study were 10 Chinese immigrant women among 84 of the Chungnam Multicultural Families in Korea. They were average age of 38 and graduated from high school in China. They lived on average for 10 years in Korea.
The experimental design methods applied in this study are pre-test and post-test. We conducted a preliminary questionnaire for the subjects, followed by an education after using the SNS, and then examined the effects of the education and the changes in the life of the subjects.
Before conducting the program, we conducted preliminary surveys and interviews with all of all immigrant women in order to identify the educational problems of multicultural families. The contents of the examination are the reason for not receiving the education, the form of education, the education time, and the educational experience. Until now, all of the education has been gathered and lectured, and most of the reasons for not being educated have not got time, or it is inconvenient to move to education place, or there is no education program. So we knew timely information communication is needed.
To investigate the effect of the program, post-test was conducted on all immigrant women after the education program using SNS. The contents of the post-test are 13 kinds such as the effect of SNS utilization on the understanding of life in Korea, the change of life after the education program using SNS, the effect on real life, and the kind of information that is helpful.
