Abstract:

The contribution is devoted to modern forms of electronic education today. The contribution discusses distance education as a type of electronic education, current trends in distance education, e-learning education, blended-learning, and Small Private Online Courses on a theoretical level. Online education at universities and in business practice should facilitate the education itself and at the same time bring new knowledge to the course participant, which he can transfer primarily to his practical life. The aim of the contribution is to map the current situation in education in small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovakia, with an emphasis on the usability and implementation of Small Private Online Courses in practice. In the paper, we will use a quantitative research method with qualitative elements. As a data collection method, we created an online questionnaire form that was sent to HR managers of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Slovak Republic. We supplemented the evaluation of the questions in the questionnaire survey with the analysis of selected statistical indicators. We focused on investigating the dependence between the existing HR department and the implementation of Small Private Online Courses and the impact of these courses on the self-education and personal growth of employees. The results of the survey show that e-learning forms an important part of employee education in corporate practice. However, it also has its shortcomings. Based on the survey, we will identify them and propose ways to eliminate them in practice. In the post, we will also suggest ways to improve the use of the Small Private Online Courses tool in small and medium-sized enterprises.
