Abstract:
As we know Human’s life is never inseparable from thought and language. One has to deal with various problems in all living activities, whether they are physical or emotional of abstract to line up to his or her expectation in life time. Since childhood, he or she begins to acquire language and to do more advance thinking activities on gradual basis (Call, 2003). That is, one learns to think for oneself and becomes on her own person. Life involves a personal empowerment and enrichment resulting from learning to develop his mind to its fullest potential (Chalesworth, 2004). The purpose of this study was investigating the relationship between critical thinking and the quality of English translation in female junior students of pre-university schools in Andimeshk in 2011-2012. That is a descriptive research and the method used is comparative. The statistic population was 60 students of pre-university schools selected by accidental multi-stages sampling. The tools of this study were a questionnaire with 30 statements and a translation paper including 2 independent paragraphs. For the analysis of data both descriptive and inferential statistics methods including T test were used. Findings indicated the students having critical thinking can translate more fluently and accurately than those not having that.
