Abstract:
Mentorina Research and Development Inc. is a Canadian company developing an Intelligent Tutoring Model that provides services for educational institutes. The product is an interactive tool that enables professors to effectively design their course materials and dynamically update them. It is a platform that enables importing text and figures to design sessions that are in addition to the content being taught in class. The main feature of Mentorina is that it can establish cognitive and metacognitive assessment methods that are also designed or modified by the professor.

That means the professor can simulate a home tutor just like him to guide the students while they are working on a session. Students are notified of active sessions and while working with the system, the simulated tutor (customized by professor) leads them during learning session and generates reports on students’ progress. Therefore, a professor with large number of students can have a detailed idea about the progress of his/her students.

Mentorina assesses students' metacognitive attitudes and generate reports that help the professor to effectively track students' self regulatory skills. We use state-of-the-art research to measure metacognitive skills of students. These measures are categorized by the course professor to find out which students need help in specific direction. For example, the professor will find out who are the fast learners, and who are the ones with most concentration. In addition, who are the weak students that need consistent guidance overall in a home learning session.

There are many e-learning softwares. They develop applications for learning and training purposes. But majority of them have fixed content and do not enable the course professor to import his own content and design the lecture for home studies online. In addition, we let the teacher to design/modify his home tutor that influence the prompt process that leads the students towards session goal.

Using Mentorina, the teacher is able to generate creative learning progress reports that elaborate extensive details on students' learning skills that are collected via the intelligent interactive pedagogical agent. Such reports help teachers to provide crucial information that address important leaning-related issues that raise in any educational institute. These reports could be shared and discussed by students, parents, and school board.

In conclusion, Mentorina helps students become better learners, teachers gain stronger control on students' progress, parents gain closer look on their kids' learning progress, and school board a better view on overall class performance.
