Abstract:
Problem solving becomes one of the 21st century skills that high school students need to learn. This skill aligns with Malaysia High School Curriculum to enhance thinking skill to students. However, not many educators enhance problem solving skill during their lessons. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of problem solving skills in enhancing financial literacy among high school economics students. The quasi experimental pre-post-test design was employed in this study. Malaysian high school economics students in one district were randomly assigned into three groups: collaborative problem solving using videos group, collaborative problem solving group and control group. A total of 174 students was involved in the study. After the interventions, the findings showed that students improved their financial literacy assessment and learning interest. In detail, students showed the least attention in future financial planning, therefore this will become the future direction of study for the researchers. Keywords:
