Abstract:
The plagiarism penetration in academic institutions is becoming serious problem of information era. This emerging issue generates many problematic situations in the lives of students, faculty and administration. The purpose of present research is to investigate critical plagiarism parameters that contribute in the diffusion of this dirty wisdom at local and global scale. The present research focused on students and faculty at academic institutions. The biangular research methodology applied. The authors have done an extensive literature review along with examples of plagiarism and identified the parameters. A research instrument is design in the light of literature review and conducted a survey of academic institutions. The students and faculty member participated as a sample was 440 and 15% response rate was received. The authors developed a plagiarism prevention model for higher education institutions of South Asia. The basic statistics (mean, standard deviation) applied and factors dropped that have high standard deviation. Then principle factor analysis for parameter reduction is applied to develop a mature mathematical equation model. The multiple regression method applied on parameters to test their relationship. The results presented in the form of tables, charts and graphs. In conclusion, main points are narrated followed by recommendations.
