Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to evaluate the status of educational sciences in universities and higher education institutions in Iran. The research method was a descriptive survey. The statistical population of the research included all students and graduates of educational sciences in universities and institutions of higher education in the country (N=427,643) of which 427 people were selected using stratified random sampling. A questionnaire (made by the researchers) was used to collect data. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by experts and its reliability was estimated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.92. To analyze the data, one-sample t and Friedman tests were used. The results showed from the point of view of the respondents, the field of educational sciences in the economic dimension in the categories of the employment rate of the graduates and the suitability degree of the jobs of the graduates with their jobs and in the administrative-structural field of the rules and regulations category and in the socio-cultural field in the categories of professors and students are facing weakness. Also, in terms of education, in the categories of students’ content and characteristics and in the field of research, in the category of the researches’ applicability, in the economic field of employers' satisfaction with the quality of graduates, the cost of course conducting and the necessary credits to support from the needs of this field, from the cultural-social point of view, in terms of acceptance of the field in the society and the effects of the field on social functions, it was somewhat damaged. Also, the results showed that prioritizing the deficiencies of the field of educational sciences from the students' point of views include administrative-structural, economic, cultural-social, research, and educational.
