Abstract:
The current study aimed at developing a blended learning environment in the light of "Hands-on Minds-on" (HoMo) strategy and measuring its impact on the development of some scientific concepts among the kindergarten children in Kuwait. Solomon four-group experimental design has been used, with three experimental groups and one control group. The sample has been withdrawn by the random stratified method, and consisted of 130 male and female enrolled in the second-level kindergarteners in Kuwait. The study included two measurement tools: a list of the scientific concepts of the experience I'm the human for kindergarten children, and a test for some of the scientific concepts of the experience I'm the human. The validity and reliability of these tools have been judged and verified by educational experts and statistical techniques. The study applied the educational program using the developed blended learning environment according to the "Hands-on Minds-on" strategy; the scientific concepts test has been administrated before and after the experiment. The study used the appropriate statistical analysis to test the research hypothesis. Results related to achievement test of the scientific concepts revealed significant statistically differences in favour of the three experimental groups with remarkable significant superiority for the first experimental group. Hence, the blended learning environment developed according to the "Hands-on Minds-on" strategy has a significant impact on developing some scientific concepts among the kindergarten children in Kuwait. In the light of these findings, some appropriate theoretical and practical recommendations were provided.
