Abstract:
Challenges for inter-ethnic and inter-confessional relationships are actualized in the context of globalization. This problem acutely manifests itself especially among young people. The influx of immigrants from various regions of the world in prosperous countries causes difficult questions for the Western European Governments that facing with migrants’ assimilation. This problem is topical for modern Russia, which has always been a multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multicultural country. At first sight, socio-cultural environment in Russia seems to be more favorable for the adaptation of migrants, but such a solution to this problem simplifies its essence and complicates the process of realization of the depth of the problem and find ways to solve it. The main problems existing in modern Russia in the field of international and inter-confessional relations are household xenophobia and dissemination of xenophobic youth facilities. In the paper it is noted that xenophobic attitudes have property to become nationalistic attitudes, which is fraught with more serious consequences.

The purpose of this paper is to study the role of education in the promotion of tolerance among young people. The core of ethnic and religious conflicts in modern Russia is analyzed. It is concluded that the education system can afford to create an atmosphere of friendly relations with the local youth to the representatives of different nationalities, which over time can become a natural part of the Russian society and help establish contacts with migrants. The main principles of tolerance as an important personal quality of modern people, the role of education in the promotion of tolerance among young people, and proposes measures aimed at the prevention of ethnic and religious conflicts in modern Russia were discussed.

Measures for the prevention and the preclusion of possible conflicts on ethnic and religious grounds are analyzed. The most effective measures are offered, such as
1) the organization of the teaching of the subject «Fundamentals of religious cultures and secular ethics» in schools,
2) promoting ethnic communities in the development of documentation and the creation of ethnic associations, national cultural centers,
3) development of ethnic development programs with targeted management decisions in the socio-economic, legal, cultural and spiritual spheres,
4) organization for teachers of schools and colleges additional training courses with the inclusion of the issues of inter-ethnic relations, the culture of the peoples living in the territory in the multinational cities and regions, as well as other measures, covering various aspects of this problem.

Methodologically, this paper is based on theoretical developments, both foreign and Russian researchers. This paper is based on general philosophical and socio-humanitarian practices and methods. We used empirical data taken from open sources.
