Abstract:
In the past year, comprehensive accreditation of higher education took place in Slovakia. As part of the adjustment of study programs, it was possible to implement elements of modern education into teaching. Emphasis was placed on the use of modern technologies and the connection of education to practice. Teaching at the Faculty of Security Engineering of the University of Žilina fully reflects the requirements of practice, which is why we have introduced education using virtual and mixed reality in several subjects. Based on project cooperation with practice, we are creating scenarios in virtual reality and mixed reality in various areas of security. In the article, the authors deal with the scope of implementation of modern technologies with an emphasis on virtual and mixed reality in security education. The article will describe the hardware and software equipment of the technologies used and their implementation in the teaching process and the promotion of the faculty's activities. The supporting part of the article will be a questionnaire survey, in which students will express their opinions in the field of using virtual and mixed reality in the teaching process.
