Abstract:
The text focuses on the issue of education and training of members of the units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities in the conditions of the Czech Republic as one of the forms of vocational training. The basic mission of fire brigade is to protect the lives and health of people, animals and property from fires and to provide effective assistance in emergencies that require rescue and liquidation work. The subject of service performance is also the education and training of members of fire protection units as a basic condition for professional competence and the possibility of service performance in the unit. The aim of the work is to determine the level of education and knowledge of members of the units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities in the district of České Budějovice. The secondary goal is to find out whether the education and professional training of members of the units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities is carried out in accordance with valid legal regulations. The method of analysis of literary sources and searches was used in the elaboration of the chosen topic. Furthermore, the method of structured interviews with experts from the ranks of professional firefighters and members of selected units was used. Due to the current development of the hygienic situation regarding the SARS-CoV-2 virus, a questionnaire survey and test questions were used in the data collection. The obtained information from the area of training and vocational training of members of the units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities was processed using SWOT analysis as a method for evaluating internal and external factors. Subsequently, the method of pairwise evaluation was used - Fuller's triangle. The results show that the average level of knowledge of all members is 82%. It can be stated that the training and education of members of the units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities are at a good level and to a sufficient extent. Large differences can be observed between groups of respondents, especially between groups of commanders and firefighters. Legislation on professional competence and training is sufficient. In the fire protection units in the investigated area of the České Budějovice district, professional training and competence are carried out according to the valid legislation.
