Abstract:
Many schools had to switch to online teaching in 2020 when the anti-epidemic measures have been taken. Online teaching was followed by online exams at the Prague University of Economics and Business in 2020. The paper brings a data analysis of online exams in an elementary mathematics course for undergraduate students in economics.

The course evaluation used consist of three parts, namely the midterm test, the final test, and the oral exam. The scores for the particular parts sum up to the total score which then determines the final grade. The course has been taught completely online in 2020, the tests were sort of open book tests submitted by the students by e-mail and the oral exam was in form of a videoconference.

The research questions in the paper address the relation between test scores and oral exam scores and the impact of the admission type and faculty of the student on the performance in the oral exam. The evaluation of dependence between the test score and the oral exam score is performed using the Spearman correlation coefficient. The Kruskal-Wallis test is used to evaluate the differences in the oral exam score between groups.
