Abstract:
The study deals with the modern approaches towards the teaching profession and explains the necessity of its scientific examination. Recently, the auxiliary and teaching professions have undergone changes in the requirements laid on teachers’ education, professionalism and competence. These changes are applied in the teachers’ training from the academic perspective and only a small portion of monitoring is aimed at the praxeological changes evoked by the school reality. The research is carried out at the Faculty of Education of Matej Bel University and examines the teachers’ activities performed commonly, in a routine or rarely. The research has been carried out during the past two years and provides new perspectives on understanding the primary education teachers’ professionalism. A special asset will be the presentation of the research procedure for the possibilities of the comparative researches within the EU countries.
