Abstract:
Having creativity, plays a major role in effective learning and academic achievements of the children. Family environment, parental attitude and the cognitive level of the parents with regards to the children’s needs may have crucial effects on the creative environment of the family. In this paper, the effect is examined and measured by using a standard questionnaire with 50 questions.95 samples were randomly selected from 125 employees of physical training centre. Each sample and his/her child were asked to fill out the questionnaire. After analysing the results with 70 parents and 70 children, three major questions were answered: 1. Have parents and children rated the significance of the family environment in obtaining better creativity differently? Using independent T-test showed a significant difference between children and parents scores (t (132) = 2.309 and p< 0.05).2. Is there any relationship between the factors age and gender and the obtained scores of both children and parents to the creativity of family environment? Using simple linear regression for age versus score, showed no significant relationship. Relationship between genders versus score was shown to be very poor too, but it was stronger than the age factor. Simple regression analysis between independent variables (parent score) and the dependent variables (children score) showed a very strong relationship between the two (scores of child = score of parent * 0.622 + 10.614). 3. What do children demand from their parents? Paying more attention to children's needs, a closer and more interactive relationship with parents and having the freedom to choose.
