Abstract:
The paper studies the current issues in the professional teacher training of technical and technological activities that are considered to be one of the principal components of the professional teacher competence development in the context of digitalization of education.

The paper identifies the main areas and digital competencies necessary to develop technical and technological activities of a computer science and natural science teacher within the European Digital Competence Framework (2017).

The research uses and analyzes the existing practice and outlines possible topics of optional courses for students majoring in Education. In this regard, the paper suggests optional courses and their content to develop technical and technological activities of a computer science and natural science teacher. It also illustrates how to organize the learning process by carrying out educational projects and describes various stages of their implementation.

This approach is believed to train highly skilled teachers who are able to teach Robotics, Industrial Design, and other relevant and up-to-date school subjects at basic and additional educational institutions.
