Abstract:
This paper presents the results of a research on teachers' attitudes on the principal's role in the organization of students' free time. Students' free time is a significant factor in the education process. How students spend their free time is of great importance, which is why educating children and young people on how to spend their free time in a socially acceptable way should be important as well. All parts of the educational process are crucial, with a special emphasis on school as a center of socialization and a methodical and systematical education.

The aim of the research is to examine teachers' attitudes on the principal’s role in the organization of students' free time. The research sample consisted of 140 teachers from the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, 70 of whom were teachers from the city schools and 70 of them were from rural schools. Theoretical analysis and survey research method was used for research analysis, and a Likert scale questionnaire was used as a research instrument.

The results indicate that teachers believe that school principals play an important role in the organization of students' free time. There was no statistically significant difference in the attitudes and length of service of teachers.
