Abstract:
The latest advance in information and communication technologies (ICT) change the ways training is provided for professional improvement and upskilling. In these new circumstances now, companies speed up to reshape their traditional practices to improve the quality of their products and services and their productivity. Thus, as corporate training became a necessity, training via e-learning became a new ability. Moreover, the pandemic of COVID-19 seems to accelerate the advance in the e-learning area setting new priorities and prospects. However, although the exponential growth and implementation of e-corporate training is a worldwide reality, the specific training model seems to be moving slowly in Greece.

Regarding the above, the current literature review study, which defines the term of corporate e-training, focuses on the particular characteristics of the Greek case and highlights the role of Massive Open Online Courses as an operator of the specific training view. The review analysis findings of research mainly carried out in the context of the TeleIcce – Promotion of Teleworking and Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Training for Increased Cluster Competitiveness and Employment project, funded in the framework of the Interreg V-A Greece–Italy Programme, highlight Greece's limited progress in this section, specify the diversifications among Greece and other European countries, and provide a defined landscape in the Greek e-learning corporate training field.
