Abstract:
Almost every year there are new trends in color throughout the world, particularly in fashion and consumer goods. In architecture and interior design, color trends develop some what more slowly. Yet even though short-lived, they stil influence our color judment and can temporarily awaken new associations.
Designer use color; Their concern in with effects, not with words, ideas, or causes, understanding what is seen, and how and why it is seen-how colors work-is background knowledge that supports the art of color. Designers work with color every day in a comfort zone; a healty mix of fact, common sense and intvition. As killed colorist exploits the instabilities of color and uses them to create interest and vitality in design.
The human experience of nature produced fundamental associations, which have led to others over the course of evolution. For example, red stands for blood and fire, aggression, revolution, and war, but also life and love. Psychological aspects, especially concerning associations, are often called in to question since cultural heritage and intellectual and aesthetic education vary from individual to individual. Color is also an important design element and has symbolic meanings. Only Color itself, can give the message and can direct the human behavior. Colors have different symbolic meanings in different cultures, geographies and timelines. Blue Commonly represents ice, water, sky, sadness, winter, boys, cold, calm and heaven. At the eastern cultures like Egypt, India, Iran and also in Turkey it is believed that blue sends away the negative energy and harm.
Designers can be both challenged and inspired by observation of natural color in the effort to assemble environments for human use in the modern world that will be as pleasant and stimulating in color term as the natural world. The aim of this study to transfer the treatment of concepts by giving examples and projects in basic design education at Anadolu University, Fine Arts Faculty in Eskisehir, Turkey.
Color can be used to communicate ideas and emotions, to manipulate perception, to create focus, to motivate and influence actions.
