Abstract:
The paper deals with processes of special education intervention in children with physical and multiple disabilities in early childhood. The research design is based on qualitative methodology using four case studies. The analysis compares the work options of a special educator from the point of two different facilities in Czech Republic – children centers and early age care centers. The goal of the research is to analyze the means of special education intervention, the process of planning, documentation and evaluation. Four participants from four institutions were chosen into the research sample. Semi-structured interviews, observation (combination of unstructured observation and video analysis) and documentation analysis were chosen as methods of data collecting. Data analysis were implemented using inductive content analysis (based on open coding procedure) and comparison of particular cases. Results of this study are theoretical models for planning, documentation and evaluation of special education intervention and comparison of these processes in the children centers and early age care centers.
