Abstract:
Interactive, step-based tools can significantly enhance the teaching and learning of circuit theory, especially when they focus not only on correct results, but also conceptual reasoning and structured problem-solving. This paper describes the latest developments of simpliPFy.org, a browser-based educational platform developed at Pforzheim University. Initially released in December 2024, the platform supports learners and educators in foundational circuit analysis. Earlier versions only featured a fixed set of exercises that guide users through circuit simplification and Kirchhoff analysis in a structured environment. New features include support for uploading and sharing custom netlists, enabling instructors to create tailored exercises without the need to self-host the platform. Custom circuits can now also be shared via QR-code. Moreover, a new group of exercises covering the Wheatstone bridge have been added. These advances make simpliPFy.org even more adaptable to diverse instructional contexts, offering educators a flexible and accessible way to guide students through circuit simplification and Kirchhoff’s laws. The platform continues to emphasize step-by-step guidance, instant feedback, and symbolic computation, reinforcing core learning goals in electrical engineering education.
