Abstract:
Cybersecurity is currently a global issue that is prominently in focus, especially in light of the recent adoption of the new NIS 2 directive within the European Union. This directive establishes requirements for cyber security for member countries. Slovakia, as one of these countries, is obligated to integrate the new directive's requirements into its national legislation. Considering the demands of the legal framework of the European Union and the Slovak Republic, the Faculty of Security Engineering at Žilina University has developed a new study program in the field of information security that effectively reflects the practical requirements of this area. Although the Faculty of Security Engineering provides higher education in this field, it has recognized the need to educate students already at the secondary school level. The faculty has initiated collaboration with the cluster of cybernetic security and has become an active member. The Cybernetic Security Cluster is an association of legal entities dealing with legal, procedural, and technical aspects of comprehensive protection of information security of data assets. In cooperation with organizations within the cluster environment, a specific program for educating high school teachers in the field of cybernetic security has been created. This article will detail the fundamental pillars of this education and the structure of this program.
