Abstract:
The accreditation process is currently being in progress at the Faculty of Security Engineering, University of Žilina. The preparation and processes related to this important obligation have included many of new aspects resulting mainly from the requirements of practice, gaining practical experience of students of the faculty and also from the researches carried out at the faculty. The submitted contribution will focus on the innovation process of the Security Management study program and its procedural parts aimed at acquiring scientific knowledge with the participation of students and their implementation in education. The study program underwent a significant change aimed at supplementing it with new perspectives that are based on the practical requirements of the security industry and the results obtained from implemented scientific projects and activities. Three trajectories of the Security Management study program were introduced as part of education, namely information security, physical and object security, and security management systems. The trajectory of physical and object security is the main trajectory that prepares students for the protection of property as well as persons through the design of security systems. During the COVID-19 pandemic, new specific requirements arose for the protection of persons, or employees from various interest groups. Therefore, within the Faculty of Security Engineering, research in the field of monitoring and tracing of persons APVV-20-0457 Monitoring and Tracing of Movement and Contacts of Persons in Medical Facilities was and is currently being carried out. As part of this project, research is being carried out in the field of technologies and their connections for the needs of ensuring minimal spread of COVID-19. The obtained outputs from the project are included in the educational process. In addition, students participate in the acquisition of this knowledge, within the subject of professional practice. This subject is part of the defined teaching plans within the new accreditation of study programs.
