Abstract:
The article considers the importance and effectiveness of pedagogical additional activities as an alternative for the holistic development of preschool children in Bulgaria and abroad. One of the main concepts for pedagogical work in preschool institutions provides for stimulating the creativity and competence of children. Pedagogical activities include creative learning and put the child into an active position, offer new ideas and experiences that meet the interests and needs of modern children. Present-day education requires diversity and creativity in pedagogical activities aimed at developing individual potential. Kindergartens provide training which gives the opportunity to work in this direction. My interest is provoked by the various educational moments that stimulate children's curiosity. The variety of additional activities stimulates the educational process. With each passing year children become more active in their inclusion in additional activities like dancing, foreign language, sports, swimming, karate, etc., organized by preschool institutions. In this sense, it is necessary to consider what opportunities are given to children in kindergartens to enrich knowledge, skills and experience. The article also presents a survey among pedagogical specialists practicing in Bulgaria. The aim of the study was to examine the teachers' opinion about the implementation of additional activities in kindergartens. The results lead to conclusions that confirm their effectiveness.
