Abstract:
The present research focuses on the knowledge and skills of Greek teachers about Artificial Intelligence in the Greek public primary school, after the three years of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the last three years, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the need for a digitally transformed educational unit that can respond effectively to the new conditions imposed by the 4th Industrial Revolution has emerged. This research examines the level of knowledge and skills of Primary School teachers in the Achaia Prefecture in Artificial Intelligence after the end of the three-year period of the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was carried out with the use of a questionnaire with closed type questions. According to the results, teachers state that they have positive attitudes and opinions about Artificial Intelligence from their engagement with the educational processes in the last three years, however, in their present educational practices they show, at a very high percentage, to have limited knowledge and skills towards Artificial Intelligence. The recorded opinions, therefore, of the teachers of the research highlighted the necessity of digital transformation of the Greek educational unit as well as the need for teachers to be trained to acquire knowledge and skills in Artificial Intelligence in education.
