Abstract:
In the theoretical study, the author discusses a form and importance of the analytical thinking in the moral reasoning of a leader in the Slovak school setting. The leader is being distinguished from a manager and his/her social-psychological and moral skills are being emphasized. The moral reasoning analysis arises from Kohlberg´s theory of moral development where his six-stage moral development model is questioned with the examples of a present neo-kohlbergian psychology researcher, George Lind from University in Konstanz, Germany. The author emphasizes the analytical framework of the situations with moral importance as a fundament of critical thinking. Consequently, he bridges it with an ability to respect moral principles as a need every leader needs to be aware of especially in the educational process. The study is a part of research project “Psychological Approach to Creation, Implementation, and Verification of Educational Leader´s Competence Model Development (APVV-17-0557)” where moral reasoning interconnected with critical thinking are two key skills of the 21st century educational leaders at schools. Keywords:
