BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF “TRANSFORMATIVE LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION” IN WEB OF SCIENCE CORE COLLECTION

Abstract:
Aim:
The study aim was to determine the papers published on “transformative leadership (TL)” in the context of “education (Ed)” by Web of Science Core Collection Index database.

Method:
The papers in all categories were checked without a time limit being restricted to "transformative leadership" and "education". There was retrieved 115 publications, and when adding “education” only 45 publications published between 1900 and 2018.

Results:
The publications of the topics start in 2001. The average citations per an item for TL is 7.0, plus Ed, there were 6 citations per an item. Only 16 publications (14%) were related to TL belonging to h-classics publications. 58 publications (50%) on TL and in combination with Ed, 31 (69%), belong to educational research area. “Educational Administration Quarterly” is the most prolific journal publishing the studies on TL (N=7, 6%). The most productive countries interested in TL also in the educational context are the USA (50%), England and the Netherlands (10%).

Implications:
The publications on the topic of “TL in the education” researched by the psychology community is very rare creating a rationale for a research project of “Psychological Approach to Creation, Implementation, and Verification of Educational Leader´s Competence Model Development” (APVV17-0557) into the Slovak Educational System.
