The socio-economic development of the country is not conceived in the modern world without taking into account the importance of the human resource. The development of specialists’ personal resources mainly occurs during the period when they receive higher education or further vocational education. Introduction of digital technologies and tools of education in the modern educational process of the university is put forward as an innovative way of increasing the effectiveness of the development of students' personal resources. The aim of the article is to substantiate the necessity of digitalization of education as an integral part of modern education at the university, as a way of improving the quality of the educational process, pedagogical assistance in developing the student's personal resource. Theoretically and practically significant tasks of determining the relevance of the introduction of digital tools into the educational process are solved; tasks of determination of students' preferences in the use of digital educational tools; tasks of search for possible directions of the educational process digitalization are also solved. The following research methods were used: analysis of existing models of digitalization of education, deductive justification of the author's model choice, empirical studies (expert interview, interviews with practitioners, questionnaires), of students’ and educators’ preferences in the use of digital tools. The increase in the development of the student's personal resource as a result of the use of digital tools in the educational process is proved in the pedagogical experiment, and a qualitative analysis of its results was carried out.
