Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has played an increasingly significant role in education and is rapidly transforming the way educators and learners approach the learning process. Many companies have recognized the potential of AI in this field and are quickly developing their tools and platforms tailored to the education sector. Chatbot-like AI tools act as language models that can generate text in a conversational style based on given prompts or contextual input. Among other capabilities, they can provide quick access to vast amounts of information and summarize large quantities of text almost instantly. This paper aims to explore the possibilities of using AI tools in higher education and to address some of the challenges educators face in the context of their widespread use. In order to explore the issue, the desk research method was employed. The results indicate that AI tools have the potential to significantly transform teaching and assessment practices in higher education. After the initial, mostly negative reaction from educators worldwide, a growing number now emphasize the benefits of these tools. The prevailing attitude today is that, instead of banning AI from higher education institutions, teachers should embrace it and exploit it as a powerful learning aid that can help students develop new skills. However, this shift requires educators to substantially re-evaluate their teaching and assessing methods. The findings of this analysis can contribute to a better understanding of the challenges associated with incorporating AI technologies into higher education. Further research into their potential is suggested, especially in the light of the rapid pace of AI development.Keywords:
