Abstract:

Virtualization technology has long been used in IT and we take it for granted. In practice, it is used in almost every industry. The provision of cloud services is also based on virtualization. The aim of this study will be to focus on virtualization and its primary use in education. Virtualization can be used in education in almost every direction and branch of informatics. Our organization primarily focuses on teaching network subjects, where it uses virtualization to teach practical skills. This study focuses on the advantages that virtualization brings with its use. In addition, we describe how this technology facilitates our educational processes. When using virtualization, it is necessary to have deeper technical knowledge, without which it is quite difficult to implement virtualization in the education process. The second part of the study is dedicated to the solution of the Virtual Network Laboratory called Virtual Router (ViRo). It is an information system, with the help of which we should be able to simplify the use of virtualization in the teaching process, focused on network technologies. ViRo is aimed at supporting education and is built on virtualization technologies. In the studies, we will describe the basic architecture of this information system and its possible expansion in the future. At the end of the study, we pay attention to future use and will also focus on the possibilities of expanding the ViRo information system in education.
