Abstract:
Industrial design and technical drawing is a subject offered to students coursing industrial engineering and technical mechanics engineering at the University of Girona, Spain. The subject is also available for Erasmus students. The structure is three hours per week of theory and three hours per week in computer room for practical matters.

The objectives of the subject are to give a vision of design process of products and mix it with the technical development necessary to define completely a product and develop a consolidate strategy of active learning. This way, and with these tools students are ready to develop their imagination to develop and design mechanical, electric and electronic parts of a product, but they are not ready to design the continent of the product. Is for that reason, that it is necessary to work the methodologies, processes and methods that they will use in the praxis of their professional way of product designers.

This subject has competence content with an important practical component. Teachers after studying different international ways, initiatives and expediencies try to develop the following methodology: project based learning (PBL), working in group and learning project with the best strategy to develop competences. In this article we explain our experiences introducing this methodology and this new process of teaching, as well as our results.
