Abstract:
Technological innovations which are developed in one year are already considered for obsolete in the next year. New technologies affect almost all aspects of human life, and although they make many activities easier for people, people's relationships with them are different. People fear that over time, new technologies will replace them at work. They don't like that people today rely more on technology than on themselves, worsening interpersonal relationships and many other things. Positive people perceive that new technologies make them better informed about everything, or that new technologies increase their productivity. The aim of the paper is to show how they perceive new technologies and what attitudes towards these technologies are held by university students of a selected technically oriented university in the Slovak Republic and to compare results with researches conducted in previous years in the world. For this purpose, a research was carried out in the form of an electronic questionnaire. The analysis of the research results shows that students perceive new technologies clearly positively and no significant differences were noted in terms of gender. The positives also included better availability of information. They perceive a high dependence on new technologies. In terms of attitudes to the use of new technologies, the research shows that almost two-thirds of students surveyed try to make the best use of technology and they are also interested in the complementary functions of these technologies.
