Abstract:
In today's, due to the technology changing world, many real-life processes are sped up, altered, or both. There are even newly introduced processes, not imaginable before the time of some newly developed technologies.
Collaboration is one such process and nowadays it is a respected method in learning, giving a lot of research and innovations in the area of collaborative learning.
In this paper we present the necessity of introducing two different scales for grading students: grade and rank, in a newly introduced on-line collaborative activity. We discuss the formula used to calculate both: the first one as a measurement of student activity, her effort and her accomplishment; and second one mainly representing the correctness of student’s input in the activity. The first one should encourage the student to actively participate in the activity, but to be careful with the input, and second one, hidden for the student should help the teacher to quickly reach the right input, in the inputs of many students.
