Abstract:
The Early Childhood Educators’ digital competence determines their success in the distance and online learning, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their online learning activities shape the digital competencies. This research explores factors affecting Warly childhood educators’ digital competence during online learning. The method used in this study is a survey in the form of questionnaires distributed to 1852 Early Childhood Educators throughout Indonesia. The research data were analyzed using statistical analysis of exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The results showed that the digital competence of Early Childhood Educators has been good. Some constraints faced by teachers is limited internet access and their internet package quota. Moreover, the main factors that affect the digital competence of Early Childhood Educators are salary/income, age, geography, and semester (learning experience). The teachers can improve their digital competency by procuring online learning facilities, especially in free quota assistance and accessible internet networks for teachers in limited areas or who do not have access and internet networks.
