Abstract:
This paper aims to discuss ways to use the sketchbook as a teaching and learning strategy - allowing students to develop and deepen general and specific drawing skills. Considering its usual practice, it is relevant to analyze the adaptations made in drawing exercises in view of the pandemic COVID 19. Student’s realities and motivations for drawing were taken into account, considering the characteristics and properties of the sketchbook for a more satisfactory, happier and engaged apprenticeship.

Taking as the discussion starting point the exercises performed in class and the sketchbooks developed by the students, we analyze the contribution in the applied methodology and learning process of this kind of base and approach. In this way, the aim of this paper is:
- To analyse how the sketchbook can be applied - as a teaching and learning strategy - enabling students to develop general and specific drawing skills;
- To address new approaches to teach and learn drawing made possible by the sketchbook;
- To present the results of student’s sketchbooks, considering the issues raised and the specificities of the graphic diaries.
- To evaluate the impact of this approach for future development.
