Abstract:
In Georgia, as in the whole world, there are many centers of education and science. Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State Universities occupy a special place among them, as one of the leading and oldest institutions of the country.

These institutions are centers of both - education and science - at the same time. Employees of the field of education work directly in various faculties, while representatives of science are employed in research institutes. This is, of course, a conditional division: lecturers-professors are simultaneously involved in scientific activities, while representatives of various institutes often directly participate in the educational process.

At the same time, for the successful conduct of both - scientific research and the educational process, mutual cooperation between the representatives of these two main fields is very important: during the teaching process, the problems of a particular scientific issue often appear more clearly; and on the other hand, without deep scientific research, receiving and imparting education is completely unthinkable.

It is for this purpose that the group of professors and scientists, representatives of both - educational and scientific units, was created. 4 representatives of the two above-mentioned state universities, and two of the scientific institutions operating within these universities (TSU Arn. Chikobava Institute of Linguistics and BSU Niko Berdzenishvili Institute) are united.

Many activities have been carried out by this group: joint research, which have been reflected in various local and international reports or publications, innovative projects, external lectures-seminars and other...

For example, one of the activities of our group was conducting an external lecture-seminar in secondary schools, when we offered to the students (and also to the teachers) the teaching of different disciplines with the help of different branches of linguistics. The mentioned methodology has been successfully tested in several schools in Tbilisi.

The members of the same group participated in various local and international conferences (including in Rome, in Venice Ca'Foscari University, in Vienna State University…).

All four representatives of the group also participated in-person (with a poster presentation and the publication) in the IATED conference EDULEARN24 - which was held in Palma de Mallorca.

The same group is currently working on the project – The Settlement Area of Proto-Georgian Tribes (according to ancient sources). Our final goal is to reconstruct the history and geographical space of settlement of Proto-Georgian tribes, to keep an eye on their relationship with neighboring tribes; show how the border, which, based on ancient sources, at the same time represents the border of Europe and Asia, has changed throughout the history.

The conducted research will also provide a great service to the teaching process of language and history, as well as other disciplines in higher institutions, which is confirmed by the growing interest of students in the mentioned issue.

All the above-mentioned, already conducted or planned works contribute to the sharing of experience among the representatives of science and education, raising the qualifications and professional advancement of the participants.
