Abstract:
This study examines the challenges of the supporting programs for Engineering Colleges in South Korea. The mechanisms that facilitate university-industry relationships in regard of employment have gained much attention these days. For a long time, Engineering Colleges in South Korea have earned much funding sources, and no need to worry about the employment rate of graduates. But nowadays it seems that it is not easy even for graduates of Engineering Colleges to meet an employer’s needs by the old-fashioned cramming education in the 4th Industrial Revolution era.

Answering the challenges of new workforce realities, a special Committee for Innovation in College of Engineering has established to reform the education system and curriculum of Engineering Colleges. Identifying innovative and effective ways in which government investments in education and training can improve employability and generate decent jobs in STEM workforce. This work considers the concrete ways of teaching and learning as well as the institutional framework.
