Abstract:
Integration of interdisciplinary research in architectural education, as well as the deeper interest of municipalities in collaboration with the faculties of architecture to obtain solutions applicable for specific urban development, brings new models in architectural and urban design studio education. Research process enriches the learning potential and the involvement of students is also crucial for research tasks. The paper points to new educational approaches enhancing students´ involvement in solving local urban design projects by local municipality support and through international research and collaboration using new technologies. Experiences with collaborative learning environment platform can be either very beneficial to educational methods, but at the same time require more efforts from the side of students and teachers.
