Abstract:
The acquisition of competences is one of the objectives in the EHEA. These competences are supposed to be acquired by students whenever they pass the theoretical and practical exams at the end of the course or through knowledge tests during the academic year.

At the University of Cadiz, a teaching innovation project was carried out during the past academic year 2011/12. It was linked to the subject "Tools for the Analysis of Economic Environment" of the Marketing and Market Research Degree. The main objective of this project was to improve the assessment of the competences pursued at the teaching guide of the subject. This project focuses on the achievement of competences by students and their assessment by teachers. ICT resources such as WebQuest, HotPotatoes, LAMS were used for this purpose.

The course in which this project was implemented was formed by 57 students in one theory group, divided in two in the practice classes. These students willingly accepted their participation in the project.

On this paper we present the initial approach of this project, its performance and the results achieved. The experience has been considered positive for both the students, through a questionnaire, and the teachers, who have used thorough tools to measure and evaluate the acquisition of the different competences and have witnessed the progress and improvement of the students through the implementation of various activities.
