Abstract:
Before starting any research work it is necessary to make a correct and wide search of the bibliographic material. The increase of scientific-technical information production makes it necessary to know how to use new tools that facilitate the selection of such information. In addition, it is inescapable to make a correct management of all this volume of material. In this way, we can reduce the time dedicated to this searching and reading activity. On the other hand, knowing the correct use of these tools benefits the user by increasing the performance of their work successfully and reducing the dedication time.

In the degree in Enology taught at the University of Cadiz, it has been detected that students do not develop the necessary skills and competences to carry out a research project autonomously. Students presented serious deficiencies to search for scientific articles, and problems associated with the manipulation of such information to develop academic work. Therefore, a series of complementary activities aimed at reinforcing all these deficiencies have been introduced within the academic activities of the Enology degree. In this sense, a teaching innovation project has been created in which teachers from different areas of knowledge are involved and develop coordinated activities among the different subjects they teach.

In order to teach students the possible tools for searching and managing bibliography, technical staff from the university's own library conducted two workshops: One dedicated to knowing, how web pages work to search for scientific articles and another focused on the management of all scientific information. In the workshop dedicated to management, the free access tool "Mendeley" was used. This bibliographic manager allows organizing and sharing bibliographical references and research documents, finding new references shared by researchers, as well as documents and being able to collaborate online. Knowing these tools properly can allow tracking the search work that the student develops during the academic year.
