Abstract:
This study as part of the research on digital leisure for learning, in this work the objectives are: first, to determine the difference of gender and age with the digital resources usage, second, to determine the level of skills and the contribution of digital resources to learning, third, to establish the main activities in digital leisure with mobile devices and finally, analyze the relationship of digital leisure activities with gender and age.

The methodology to be used in the research process is deductive, then it will have the descriptive character when identifying the items of its qualitative variables, in addition, this study is of transversal analytical character, since it performs data analysis and relates the variables that participate in the study. To identify the variables in the context of digital leisure activities, the formal causal method was applied (Nieto & García-Chamizo, 2016) together with the descriptive statistical analysis.

For the case study, a survey was conducted in February 2019, with a population of N = 38018 students from the Central University of Ecuador from October 2018 to March 2019, according to the model of m = 641(Morales, 2012).

Regarding digital resources, it was detected that 10% of UCE students do not have a Smartphone; 40% do not use APP for learning; The social networks used are: Youtube, Facebook, WhatsApp; 20% do not have Internet at home; 25% only have good or regular skills in digital resources; Only about 30% believe that mobile and laptop contribute to learning by 62.5%. Among the activities of digital leisure only 50% are dedicated to learning; additionally, age is not related to activities, therefore, they are independent, however, gender is related or associated with activities.
