ENGINEERING TECHNICAL PROJECTS LEARNING BASED ON GREEN BUILDING

Nowadays green building is a new trend for doing more sustainable the construction of houses and civil buildings. However, green building is only an idea, a proposal or a very good intention without a real way to achieve it. So, it is necessary to offer a serious and formal way and method to be applied in building field. That is why in this work, this method is showed and taught to students of engineering through technical projects subject, with the intention of opening their minds and knowledge focused on this new trend to construct, which will be probably the optimal way to build in future.

The subject is organized and scheduled based on the real tasks that have to be done to achieve the main goal of a real technical project from the point of view of the official papers. The real project is proposed as a problem without green building solution at this moment. They have to work about the idea, design, market study, solution, materials, manufacturing process, plans and costs. The students have to do all these tasks working by their own, looking for all the necessary previous information and relevant data, and studying how to solve the green building real case.

The evaluation of the learning process is focused on the final result, as real technical projects work. So, the mark is obtained after doing a measurement of all the green points that the whole project demonstrates, which means that students have understood perfectly the concept and have acquired the basis of this new knowledge challenge in industrial engineering.
