Abstract:
The adjustment of any graduate or postgraduate degree to the labour market demands an ongoing awareness of the current and future environment. The Master degree in Planning and Management in Civil Engineering was born in 2008 with the aim of meeting the market needs of junior professionals working in the construction industry regarding training and education in management, not only from the point of view of the project but also from the business. Currently the degree is in a process of continuous adaptation to the changing environment: currently a deep economic crisis more pronounced in the Spanish construction industry. In this sense, the paper presents the results of a SWOT analysis performed individually by each member of the faculty. Responses to the survey, regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the Master, account for an internal analysis, whereas the opportunities and threats are an external analysis of the environment. From the joint analysis of these results several proposals have been derived which will be applied during the academic years 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. Towards the end of each of these academic years, a survey to the students will validate or correct the measures implemented from the SWOT analysis. Keywords:
